Google Ads

Choosing an ads budget depends on what you are trying to achieve with your campaign (i.e. your campaign goal) as well as many other factors*. For new Adwords campaigns, we suggest a starting budget of between R200 to R400 per day (In our experience, an ads budget of less than R200 per day does not deliver meaningful results).

Your daily ads budget may have to be increased after the first 2 to 4 weeks. We will provide the campaign perfomance data to help you make an informed decision in this regard. We also monitor your campaigns & bids at least 3 times a day so you will always be kept up to date if any changes need to be made.

*Factors to consider when choosing your ad budget include:

• Industry/market segment
• Target area
• Number of keywords and average cost per click (Estimated initially)

To measure the success of a Google ads campaign, the two most important metrics to consider are:

1. Return on Investment (ROI): ROI explained with a simple example*: If you spent R4000 on Google ads in the last 30 days, and you made R5000 in sales from those ads, then your ads are successful (i.e. profitable)

*To calculate ROI, simply take your sales revenue, subtract your ad costs, and then divide by your ad costs and multiply by 100.

Measure the success of your Google ads for as long as they run by keeping an eye on your ROI (which should always be increasing) 

2. Cost-per-click (CPC): This metric measures how much you are paying for each click on your ads. Let’s use another simple example to explain CPC: If you spend R100 on Google ads, and your ads drive 25 clicks to your website, your cost-per-click is R4.

Always keep an eye on your CPC but bear in mind that as long as your ROI keeps increasing, it doesn’t really matter that much if your CPC increases over time (what matters most is that your ads remain profitable)
